Jide Kosoko, Zack Orji, Ogogo, others in APC presidential campaign council

Some well-liked Nollywood stars have been appointed into the All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential Marketing campaign Council.

The actors and actresses have been listed as members of the Presidential Marketing campaign Council of the ruling celebration launched by the council’s secretary, James Faleke, on Friday night time.

They have been nominated below the Performing and Inventive Artwork Directorate with Zack Orji because the director.

Jide Kosoko is the secretary of the directorate and Saheed Balogun is the assistant spokesperson of the directorate.

Others on the record are Light Jack, Benedict Johnson, Funke Daramola, Remi Oshodi, Nuhu Abdulahi, Eberechuckwu Eberechi, Hafsat Saheed, Isa Rabiu, Taiwo Hassan, and others.

PREMIUM TIMES had reported that APC launched a 422-man record for the prosecution of the marketing campaign and election in February 2023.

The marketing campaign is ready to start on September 28 in line with the timetable and schedule of actions set by the Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC).

Criticism for supporting Mr Tinubu

A few of these Nollywood personalities supporting the APC presidential candidate within the 2023 election, Bola Tinubu, have come below heavy criticism on social media of late.

In November 2021, Nollywood actor John Okafor (Mr Ibu), alongside his colleagues like Foluke Daramola, Harry Anyanwu, and Benedict Johnson, visited Mr Tinubu and drummed assist for his presidential bid.

The go to generated backlash on social media, prompting the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas, to dissociate the guild from the Nollywood actors’ go to to Mr Tinubu.

Amidst the criticism, a few of them launched movies below the theme; “My Asiwaju Story”.

Within the brief video clips, a few of them narrated causes for backing the previous Lagos State Governor.
