Scores of youths on Thursday staged a peaceable protest in opposition to the alleged unlawful arrest and detention of harmless youths by the operatives of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC) in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The youths, who stormed the state Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, in a convoy of over 20 automobiles, carried banners with numerous inscriptions and chanted solidarity songs to precise their displeasure with the conduct of the anti-graft company.
A number of the placards learn: “Finish EFCC”; “It’s unjust for EFCC to arrest harmless merely on a phantom and unverified allegation” and “EFCC depart us alone.”
They barricaded the doorway to the Secretariat and made guests and others stranded for a number of hours.

The spokesman for the protesters, Olamide Ayobami, stated: “We’re bored with indiscriminate arrest and detention by EFCC officers.

“We’ve got our respectable livelihoods and these officers do arrest us as a result of we live positive.
“We wish the federal government to intervene and prevail on EFCC to cease harassing us.”
